Securely log on to our App with your face or fingerprint

Apple devices

Touch ID

With Touch ID, you can log on to our App just by placing your fingerprint on the home button. Easy.

You'll need:

a compatible phone
the latest version of our App
a Digital Secure Key.

Setting up:

If you have an Apple iPhone with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and already have the latest version of our App installed, you'll be invited to enable Touch ID with a message when you first open the App.

If you skipped past this at the time, it's easy to go back and enable it. From the 'More' menu, go to 'Security Settings', then 'Manage Security' and enable Touch ID.

Face ID

You'll need:

a compatible phone
the latest version of our App
a Digital Secure Key.

Setting up:

If you have an Apple iPhone with Face ID, download our latest version of our App, you'll need to set up your Digital Secure Key and then you'll be prompted to enable Face ID.

If you skipped past this at the time, it's easy to go back and enable it. From the 'More' menu, go to 'Security Settings', then 'Manage Security' and enable Face ID.

Android devices

With Android Fingerprint, you can log in to our App just by placing your fingerprint on your device sensor.

You'll need:

the latest version of our App
a Digital Secure Key.
a compatible phone

• If your phone is running Android 8.0 or above, and your fingerprint recognition is enabled, you'll now be able to log in to our mobile app with your fingerprint.

Setting up:

If you have an eligible Android device and already have the latest version of the App installed, you'll be invited to enable Android Fingerprint with a message when you first open the App.

If you skipped past this at the time, it's easy to go back and enable it. From the 'More' menu, go to 'Security Settings', then 'Manage Security' and enable Fingerprint.

Can I still generate a Digital Secure Key security code after I have enabled biometrics?

Can I still log in to the App if my phone doesn’t recognise my biometrics?

What should I do if my device is lost or stolen?

Call us as soon as possible on 03 456 100 100 if your device is lost or stolen*.

You may be responsible for unauthorised payments made from your accounts if you haven't kept your mobile or tablet, and your security details, safe.

Android:

As soon as possible, log on to your Google Account Opens an overlay [Will show a security message first] and remotely lock or erase your device.

Apple:

As soon as possible, log on to iCloud Opens an overlay [Will show a security message first] and remotely wipe your device by activating the 'Find My iPhone' App, selecting the lost device and erasing the data on it.

What are biometrics and how do they work with the App?

Will first direct store my biometrics?

How do I disable Android fingerprint or Apple Touch & Face ID?

Android:

disable Fingerprint under 'Security Settings' then 'Manage Security' within the App
or in your device settings by deleting all registered fingerprints, or deleting the device PIN, pattern or passcode.

Apple:

disable Touch ID or Face ID under 'Security Settings' then 'Manage Security' within the App
or go to your device settings and follow the instructions to delete the biometric supported by your mobile device.

Do I need to change any settings on my device?

Yes, you can enable Touch ID, Face ID and Android Fingerprint in your device settings and follow the instructions to save the biometrics supported by your mobile device. You’ll also need to set up a device passcode, if you’ve not already done this.

If I have other peoples’ fingerprints stored on my device will they be able to log on to the App?

Yes. If someone can use their fingerprint or face to unlock your device they'll also be able to log in to the App. You should only use Touch ID, Face ID and Android Fingerprint to log in to our App if you're the only person with biometrics registered on your device.

You can add or remove fingerprints and Face ID in your device settings.
