Ah, summer time. We wait a whole year for it to come along and then it's gone again in a flash. You'd think we'd appreciate every moment of sun we get, but instead there are several things we all love to hate about it.

There's nothing like a beautifully sunny day. Birds are singing, children are playing and ice cream vans are delivering cheer to the doorstep. Not your doorstep though, because you're stuck in work getting increasingly sweaty and wondering what you did to deserve such a fate.
Yes, it is lovely outside, but you'll not experience it today.

While being stuck at work all week while the sun is shining can grind you down, the hope of the weekend approaching is always there to brighten your spirits. Just think of the fun you'll have, the parties you'll go to and the BBQs you'll host.

On those rare moments it's both sunny and you're outside to enjoy it, it's a great feeling to have that warmth beating down on your skin. Suncream up though, obvs.

Scrolling through social media, giggling at the occasional cat pictures and loving the incredibly engaging content from your bank, ahem. Then you see a lovely photo of your colleague and their family sunning it up on an exotic looking beach.
They look like they're having a great time, and you hate them for it. They'll probably tell you all about it when they get back. Yay.

The music's great, the atmosphere is fantastic and you're having the time of your life, until your friend has a little bit too much fun and you have to head back to your tent early to look after them.
You're not bitter at all. You definitely won't remind them of this every summer for the rest of their lives. You don't hold grudges.

Ice cream is something you can only really eat in summer. It's too cold at any other time and, added to that, you'd look silly. Summer means it's tasty and practical, as it cools you down as you eat it.
Either that or it melts, drips all over your hand and leaves you feeling a bit sticky for the rest of the day. See, it wouldn't do that if you ate it in winter.

Angry. Buzzing. Looking for a fight. Striking without provocations. Painful. Very irritating.
No-one likes wasps, and sure, they keep your garden clean, protect your flowers from other insects and are a very misunderstood creature, but can't they be misunderstood somewhere else?

After spending the last few months complaining about how hot it is, wishing it would just cool down a little bit and longing for the need to wear jumpers again, suddenly summer ends and we can't wait for next year. Come back, summer, we're sorry!
