Why can I change my address in the App, but not in Online Banking?

This is a feature that is unique to our App.

Why can’t I change the joint party on my account’s address at the same time?

We treat our customers as individuals when it comes to changing address details.  Sometimes joint account holders live at different addresses.

Can I change my correspondence address in the App?

No, it’s only possible to change your home address in the app. If you’d like a different correspondence address to your home address, please call us on 03 456 100 100.

If I change my address, will it also update my individual insurance products with first direct as well?

No. Your individual insurance policies are provided by third party companies we work with and we don’t have direct access to these, so you’ll need to contact them separately. For first directory address updates, please read the next question.

I have first directory: do I need to call the related insurance providers?

For first directory, you won’t need to get in contact with the insurance providers. Once your address is updated with us, the third party insurance companies connected with your policy will be provided with your new details.

Can I change my address to a Non-UK address on the App?

Unfortunately, not at the moment, you can only change to a UK address. Please call us if you’re already outside the UK and are moving to another non-UK address, or if you’re moving abroad.

I’ve changed my address on the App, when will the address update?

This will update immediately.

How long will it take for my address to update on my statements?

The next statement produced after you update your address will have your new address on it.

I’m moving house to a new address in a couple of weeks, can I update this in the App now?

Unfortunately you won’t be able to update this in the App until you have moved.
